The notion of being born twice is a concept that is rooted in the natural world (a bird is first an egg before it hatches to become a bird) but one that extends to humanity - to be born again spiritually.
Twice born is a new ballet that looks at the birth and rebirth of a woman to an imagined community that she has to lead. The challenge for costume was for clothing to feel familiar but other and so we created something that could sit between traditional/indigenous and contemporary/futuristic.
